In this episode I talk about the short story "Tin Woodman" by co-authors Dennis Russell Bailey and David Bischoff.
It was first published in December 1976 as a short story in "Amazing Science-Fiction" magazine, then in novel form in 1979.
If the story sounds familiar to you that's because it became popularized in an entirely different venue. I'll go into that as well.
Enjoy your trip to the stars, and please pass the word and subscribe if you would like to see more content like this throughout 2021.
Correction: In the audio I incorrectly state that the original story was published in "Analog" magazine, it was in fact in "Amazing Science Fiction."
