  • S01E05 Interview with Andrew H Brown

This week on Tiny Pod Big Impact I had the honour and the pleasure of talking to award-winning director Andrew H Brown about his latest film, "Kikuyu Land."

Andrew has spent over a decade documenting and amplifying the lives and stories of often overlooked and forgotten voices. His cinema veritas, intimate and raw filmmaking makes us feel as though we are in room with him.

"Kikuyu Land" offers us an opportunity to explore the human cost of multinational corporate profit, and the enduring harm of colonislism.

"Kikuyu Land" is open ended, deeply thought provoking and leaves us with more questions than it answers. Beautifully shot with breathtaking cinematography and intimate story telling, it is a film that stays with you long after the credits roll.

Andrew's work is deeply impactful, and through his and Bea Wangondu's thoughtful and careful direction we get share in the lost accounts that history excluded, erased or forgot.

I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did.

  • S01E03 Tiny Pod Big Impact with Andy Mundy-Castle

This week on Tiny Pod Big Impact, I interview the deeply human, supremely talented and enormous hearted Andy Mundy-Castle about his latest film “Shoot the People.” I really enjoyed talking to him about his work, and he shared great advice on how he overcomes self-doubt, and what small act every one of us can do to make a big impact.

“Shoot the People,” follows activist, photographer Misan Harriman, and connects Misan’s powerful photography of protest movements today with photographs, activists and archives of ordinary standing together to enact extraordinary change.

It is an extraordinarily powerful, deeply moving and thought-provoking piece that stays with you long after the credits roll. A truly rich, layered, and hopeful film.

SHOOT THE PEOPLE is in cinemas from 6 July

  • S01E01 Introducing Tiny Pod Big Impact

Welcome to Tiny Pod Big Impact

I am so excited to share with you my new podcast: Tiny Pod Big Impact. Having been podcasting solo for almost two years, exploring and rediscovering meaning in words, I wanted to expand into conversation and communion with others.

There is often so much noise around people making the world worse, that I wanted to create a space to share the stories of people making the world better.

This podcast is all about people, and discovering what drives them, how they keep going, and a place to celebrate their big impact.

Thank you for joining me here. Next week, I am honoured to welcome Andy Mundy-Castle to discuss his latest film "Shoot The People."

    See you next week,

    Miranda x
