Husam Gawish is HKA’s Partner responsible for Business Development in the Middle East and North Africa Region. Prior to assuming this role, Husam was HKA’s Country Manager and Head of Operations in Qatar responsible for the overall management and delivery of HKA’s business in the GCC Country. Husam is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK.

Husam has 25 years of diverse engineering, commercial, claims, project management, and business development and marketing experience gained through working on a wide range of major projects in the buildings, infrastructure, industrial, process, and power generation sectors throughout the UK, Africa, Middle East and Asia.

Resident in the GCC region since 2008, Husam has a strong technical background and extensive commercial and contractual experience, backed by bilingual English and Arabic skills. During his career to date, Husam has been involved in several landmark projects around the world, including: the Dubai Metro and Sheikh Zayed Bridge in the UAE; the new Hamad International Airport in Qatar; the Songsu Bridge in South Korea; the Bangabandhu (Jamuna) Bridge in Bangladesh; the Landbridge Railway Project in Saudi Arabia; and the Millennium Dome (now O2 Arena) in London, UK.
