In today's episode, we're going to be revisiting James Cameron's 1997 Titanic, starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Recently James Cameron re-released the 1997 romantic disaster film ahead of its 25th anniversary. As a baby millennial born in the latter half of the 1990s I remember this film as some of my fondest memories of first being in a movie theater and experiencing a blockbuster; the epic scope & mythical love story are still captivating generations to come.
In this episode we’ll talk about what I believe this film means, from a filmmarking perspective. Then take a deep dive into why I think the story between Rose & Jack is the best romantic story ever to grace our cinemas (sorry notebook).
Join me as I take time to revisit this gem of a movie and its impact in the last 25 years.
