Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Thoko Didiza will this coming Saturday handing over title deeds to beneficiaries of the Qhubekani-Mnqobokazi and Makhasa community trusts. This follows a resolution by the inter-Ministerial Committee on Land Reform on 21 February 2020, that title deeds should be handed over to land claim beneficiaries in cases where land had been released by the state. Let’s use this opportunity now to get an understanding on how the process works and what conditions the recipients must meet. Also are they allowed to lease the land and so on?
