Remembering Bernice “Bunny” Sandler and Title IX, Durgin-Park, Brian Garfield, Christine McGuire, Dean Ford
Bernice “Bunny” Sandler was a woman’s activist who played a major role in the passage of the Title IX legislation of 1972. Durgin-Park was the venerable Boston restaurant located in Faneuil Hall that will be closing after 192 years. Brian Garfield was the author of the book Death Wish, which was made into several movies starring Charles Bronson and a more recent movie starring Bruce Willis. Christine McGuire was one of the McGuire Sisters, who were especially popular in the 1950’s. Dean Ford was the lead singer of the Scottish group Marmelade. He sang on their 1969 international hit “Reflections of My Life.”
