Well, the government is still shut down and Washington still acts like it’s some sort of surprise crisis. It’s not, though. It’s a scheduled failure you can pretty much set your clock to. The last real budget was signed by President Joe Biden in December of 2022. Since then, Congress has relied on five continuing resolutions simply to keep the lights on. My friends is a steady drumbeat of failure. And the losers, you and me, the American taxpayer. Congress has kept and even increased Biden level spending five times over the past three years. Passing another continuing resolution is not governing its fiscal malpractice, and it’s just accelerating the collapse of our economy.
