Well, here’s the bottom line, folks. Like most messes in life, Democrats are responsible for them, and this government shutdown is no different. Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act in 2010, known as Obamacare, and they passed it without a single Republican vote. Then Democrats added temporary subsidies during COVID, and Democrats set an expiration date for those subsidies themselves. And now Democrats are holding government hostage to extend subsidies, subsidies mind you, that Democrats designed to expire. This shutdown, folks, is not on Republicans. Democrats have been building this mess for a very long time, and now they need to own it.
