May is all about time.

Today is the 2nd part of our two part mini-series on developing top time management skills.

Last week we talked about what those skills were. Today, I share ways you can develop them.

Here’s how you do it:

Prioritization:

Core Values - You need to write down the 5 things that are most important things in your life.

Strategic Thinking

Set some time aside every day for the problems of tomorrow. I do this at work.

Focus

Write a to do list today. Write down all the things you need to do tomorrow. Pick the most important thing and only do that until it’s done. Then move onto your next thing.

Communication

Think of the people with whom you share most of your schedule. Explain to them your priorities, all of them. Then explain the boundaries you explain to maintain.

Self-Awareness

Ask people close to you about weaknesses you have. Take the average of those answers.

Organization and Visualization

Gratitude

Spend some moments of gratitude for the time you have to do what you can.

Instead, take the mindset, “I want to win, because it’s a challenge that will stretch me, and I believe I can win.” Don’t be a jerk (this is the hardest part of all). Instead, be cordial, polite, and play well. I think many times, we let ourselves give less than our best. Give your best.

Discernment and Conviction

Start to say no to things you are on the fence about. I mean things that you aren’t 100%...
