Son of Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr., Ryan Ripken was exposed to baseball from birth and faced ongoing comparisons to his father’s legacy. But his personal passion for the game, motivation to win and desire to define who “Ryan” was regardless of outside perceptions paved the way to create his own baseball journey. He won a high school championship, was drafted in 2014 by the Washington Nationals, signed with the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and just completed his career at the Triple-A level retiring in 2022. He shares his mindset in handling external pressures, navigating numerous setbacks and the evolution of redefining himself outside of baseball.
