TMI with Tommy

Are deluxe box sets getting out of control? How many alternate takes, demos, and unreleased recordings do we really need? And how many times should we have to buy the same album?

On Episode 2 of TMI with Tommy, we're diving into deluxe box set fatigue, checking out some recent vinyl acquisitions, and welcoming our very first guest, Americana Sam!

Sam joins Tommy to talk about his musical upbringing, the Traveling Wilburys, unforgettable concert experiences, and his passion for sharing music through the Vinyl Community. Plus, he brings along a mystery album that leads to a wonderful conversation about John Prine and The Tree of Forgiveness.

Welcome to the premiere of TMI with Tommy!

In our first episode, we're asking why music needs so many labels. From yacht rock and alternative music to John Coltrane's A Love Supreme, Tommy makes the case for simply listening to the dang record!

Plus, a look at Record Store Day Black Friday 2026, recent vinyl finds featuring The Velvet Underground, Frank Zappa, The Who, Redd Kross, and Todd Rundgren, and some thoughts on why Charley Crockett is timeless rather than retro.
