Should you join the Guard or Reserves after leaving active duty? When I was on active duty, I didn’t give it much thought. My perception at the time was that the Guard and Reserves were basically the same as active duty, just on a part-time basis. 

In some ways, that is true. But there is so much more to the Guard and Reserves than that.
