What do you do when you’ve been waiting on something for years and nothing seems to change? When hope starts to hurt, it’s easy to wonder if you should take matters into your own hands.

Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years between God’s promise and its fulfillment—and the years in between were far from easy. Their story shows us the difference between trusting God’s timing and trying to force the outcome ourselves.

Genesis 12, Genesis 16, and Genesis 21 remind us that faith isn’t always about knowing what God is doing. Sometimes it means staying faithful when you’re exhausted, frustrated, and confused. Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick,” yet Scripture points us toward a deeper hope fulfilled in Jesus.

If you’re tired of waiting, take some time to reflect on what it means to wait well, trust God, and stop trying to control the outcome.

What if the problem isn’t that you don’t know what to do—but that you already know and still aren’t doing it? Why do we keep repeating the same patterns even after hearing good advice, truth, or wisdom?

Moses’ story shows how pressure, unresolved burdens, and ignored wisdom can build over time. The issue isn’t simply hearing the right thing; it’s putting truth into practice before the weight of life changes how we respond.

Jesus addresses this directly in Luke 6:46–49: hearing His words without putting them into practice leaves us without a solid foundation. Scripture invites us to move from knowing to doing—from information to obedience, and ultimately toward a life built on Jesus.

What do you do when God cares about someone you don’t? What if the people you’ve written off, disagreed with, or decided don’t deserve another chance are still deeply loved by God?

Jonah shows us how easy it is to know what God says while missing God’s heart. Jonah didn’t struggle to understand God’s mercy—he struggled with who God wanted to show it to. And that tension still exists in our lives today.

Through Jonah’s story, we’re reminded that God’s heart is broken for people we may not care about. Romans 5 reminds us that Christ came toward us while we were still sinners, and Jesus ultimately does what Jonah could not: He moves toward people who don’t deserve His love.

Explore Jonah 1–4 and consider what God might be changing in your heart.

What do you do when you thought God was leading you one way, but your life suddenly goes in the opposite direction? How do you stay faithful when you feel betrayed, misunderstood, forgotten, or stuck?

Joseph’s story shows us that faithfulness isn’t dependent on comfortable circumstances. Even when his plans were derailed, Joseph continued to trust God, serve faithfully, and remember that God was still with him.

Genesis 37–50 reminds us that God can be working even when we can’t see where the story is going. Joseph’s life ultimately points us toward a God who brings good from suffering, gives strength in difficult seasons, and frees us to forgive rather than seek revenge.

Why doesn’t God answer every question we have? What do we do when Scripture gives us an answer—or when it simply leaves us with mystery?

Why do relationships fall apart over things that seem so small? Sometimes the problem isn’t what someone did—it’s what we expected them to do without ever saying it.

Unspoken expectations can quietly create frustration, disappointment, resentment, and distance in marriages, friendships, families, and even the workplace. So how do we build healthier relationships when we don’t always know what the other person expects?

Colossians 3 points us toward a different way of relating to people—one shaped by humility, patience, forgiveness, love, and the peace of Christ. Instead of demanding that others meet our expectations, Jesus invites us to examine our own hearts, seek clarity, and reconsider what we’re bringing into our relationships.

Does loving someone mean giving up your voice, freedom, or power? What does healthy love look like when you disagree, want different things, or feel like you’re always the one compromising?

Real love isn’t about control, keeping score, or always getting your way. Scripture offers a different picture: love that sacrifices, serves, listens, and submits—not because one person is less valuable, but because both people are learning to submit to Jesus.

Ephesians 5:21–26 points to Jesus as the ultimate example of selfless love. He willingly submitted to the Father and gave Himself for us, showing us what sacrificial love looks like.

Whether you’re married, dating, or single, consider this question: What relationship are you insisting on controlling—and what would it look like to surrender it to Jesus?

Reflect on Ephesians 5:21–26 and explore what real, selfless love can look like.

Why do we keep misunderstanding the people we care about most? Why can a simple conversation turn into conflict, hurt, or distance?

Communication problems are not just about choosing the right words—they reveal something deeper about the brokenness we experience in relationships. From the very beginning in Genesis 3, words were used to create doubt, blame, and separation. But God’s answer was not to leave us stuck in broken communication.

Through Jesus, we can experience a reset from the inside out. As we see in Genesis 3 and James 4, humility, grace, and a restored relationship with God transform the way we relate to others.
