Facebook had success with live video, but continuously stumbled as it dealt with the impact and influence of fake news. Instagram emulated some of the successes of Snapchat, and effectively revitalized its service in new ways. Twitter struggled to increase its user count, and tried unsuccessfully to find a buyer.
