I used to be the friend who couldn’t decide in front of a store window, thinking the problem was indecision when it was really fear of accountability. In this episode, I reflect on decision-making, risk appetite, people-pleasing, and the quiet cost of trying to be liked, moving from venture capital pattern recognition and Jeff Bezos’ two-way doors to financial PR hierarchy and the question, “Am I happy?” It’s a story about shifting from optimization to ownership, about being the “difficult” student and the lonely top performer, about why receiving requests is a gift, and why love is not the same as unfiltered truth. Maybe there is no perfect decision. Maybe growing up is learning to live with the one you make.
