You’ve probably heard the old saying, “You want to put your best foot forward.” In today’s world, this often looks like a perfect picture on Instagram, an effortless climb up a corporate ladder, or a well-mannered family. Of course, while none of these things are terrible, they’re not really the whole story. But there is one place we can go to find the one who wants to see it all— the good, the bad, and everything in between. God! God doesn’t just want to see the highlights of who we are; God doesn’t want our best foot forward. Instead, God wants to meet our authentic selves. His light in our lives can illuminate who we are in Him. It can lead us to real lives lived as our real selves!
ABOUT THIS SERIES:
What does it look like to have a real life? In a world in which presenting the perfect social media presence and creating a curated online profile is more important than ever, it can be hard to figure out what’s actually real and what’s just plainly fake. It’s hard to know what real life is supposed to look like! A real life is a life spent building a relationship with God. The more we pursue that life, the more we realize what it means to live the real life that God came to give us. In this series, we’ll take a look at what God has to say about the real life He’s called His followers to live.
