Do you have a favorite worship lyric? Mine is from “Mighty to Save” and reads: “Savior, He can move the mountains / For my God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save / Forever, author of Salvation / He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave.”

These words are a powerful reminder that not only did Jesus triumph over death on the cross, but he saved us while doing so. God overcame sin, the work of evil and of the devil, with this sacrifice and resurrection.  Jesus overcame death, for you and for me, my friend.

First John 3:8 says “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.”  And destroy it He did.  Yes, He did!  God gave His Son for us, and we now know life eternal as a result.  No longer does evil have a stronghold in our lives.
