With the recent spikes in COVID-19 cases across the country, collegiate athletics departments have been thrust into a potential reality that is undeniably challenging. As institutions and conferences across the country face difficult decisions in the days and weeks ahead as it relates to fall competition, we are reminded that no one is immune to the effects of a pandemic. Panelists Patrick Britz, Commissioner, South Atlantic Conference; Jennifer Heppel, Commissioner, The Patriot League; and NACDA Past President Chris Plonsky, Chief of Staff/Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director, University of Texas, share insights on the discussions that have taken place within their institutions and conferences which have led to decisions to modify, delay or completely cancel sports competition for fall 2020.
