For this episode, I spoke with Joshua Walker is an 11th grade Physics teacher at KIPP DC: College Preparatory High School in Northeast Washington, DC. We discussed the reopening of schools and his upcoming journey as his school prepares to open.
Joshua has a heart for teenagers and making sure they have the tools both academically and socially to successfully transition to colleges and careers of their choice. He believes that good teaching, especially in the urban setting, includes rigor while meeting students where they are, a mix of learning styles infused into the lessons, and establishing relationships with each and every student.
Joshua received his B.S. in Meteorology from Pennsylvania State University. He enjoys teaching and connection with young people and the opportunities that science and education may bring in the future.
