Not what I expected...
I listened to this as an unabridged audio book. With Fern Michaels, I expect a small-town-romance type story. I was not prepared for the rape or the sexual and physical abuse in this one. The narrator did a good job.

Nothing great, but OK
I enjoyed this book. It wasn't anything "heavy" nor was it a "can't wait to get back to it" story. The characters were a little superficial so I didn't care what happened to them. Hmmm...maybe I should have given this a two-star. No, I think I'll save the two-star for the book I started to read, "Fancy Dancer". More on that in another review. If you are looking for some light reading to wind down for the day or something to read while on vacation, check this out.

As usual, Fern Michaels makes the story leap off the pages.
