Today we continue our journey through the book of Revelation with the message to the church at Philadelphia. Though not a powerful church, this congregation held fast to the Word of Christ and did not deny Him even in the face of persecution. While the omnipresent and omnipotent power of Jesus is a terror to those who reject Him, it is a comfort to those who cry out to Him in faith. To them He opens the door of eternal life which will never be shut. To them He promises rewards and comfort in affliction. To them He promises protection from the much worse suffering that will befall the rebellious.
