Our modern culture is dripping with deception and sin. We call good, evil and evil, good. If we are going to resist the lies of the enemy and the temptations of this world, we must find our strength in the anchoring word of God.

Pastor John Beaken took us into the back part of 1 Timothy 4, which encourages Timothy (and us) to not be sheepish because of our age. God has called his followers to something greater, but that can be terrifying to let sink in and sometimes impossible (at least it seems) to figure out how to live it out. Paul writes two compelling letters to his partner in ministry, friend, and spiritual son, Timothy, that exemplify how to accomplish the greater things God calls us to. It may have started as “To Timothy” but it is really to all of us!
