Publisher's Summary:
Makenna Dunstan has never needed a man's protection before. But when her father's failing health places the safety of the clan in her hands, she has no choice but to marry Colin McTiernay. Fearing the emotions Colin awakens within her, she finds herself succumbing too easily to his lingering kisses and warm caresses. Yet she wonders if she can truly trust this highlander who is quickly stealing her heart....
A highlander from birth, Colin McTiernay knows the Dunstan clan dislikes him, especially the laird's youngest daughter. But he is determined to save the lowlanders from their enemies even if that means marrying the willful and impetuous Makenna. Taming this fierce tigress will be a challenge that Colin is confident he can meet by seducing Makenna - and tantalizing her with a passion that will only leave her begging for more.

The highlander is a Hunk and the woman has Spunk
Any highlander book that has a strong skillful woman as the heroine has got my attention. This second book in the series introduces the heroine, Makenna, as a strong willed woman who is more of a tom-boy type than a girly girl. She is well trained with a sword but lacks the social and hospitality skills of a Laird's wife. As the story progresses she has to learn how to be a woman in more ways than one. The hero, Colin, who is also a strong warrior, has deal with being a new Laird and controlling his lust for Makenna, The story is made more interesting because of the return of Laurel and Connor from book one. This really added to the depth and appeal of the story.
This book is adventurous, romantic, lusty, passionate, steamy, intimate and has a good storyline. I liked this one and am looking forward to book three.
New twist on a highlander tale
Would you listen to To Wed a Highlander again? Why?
No sure, maybe. not because I did not enjoy it. There are just more books in the seriers and I rarely re- read books.
What did you like best about this story?
I like how it explored the hero being a widower and the emotions behind it.
Which scene was your favorite?
The night she tried to chase him away from the Loch
A DELIGHTFUL MEDIEVAL BATTLE OF THE WILLS
Imagine you're the Laird's youngest daughter Makenna and you've been allowed to do just as you please - and what pleases you is hanging out with, and being treated like, one of the lads, loving swordplay, riding, hunting and generally being a rebel. You've got no interest in 'female' pastimes like knowing how to look after the Keep, nor managing or getting to know all the Clan's folk or being bothered about such stupid things as making your appearance attractive.
Then your Father, to keep the Clan safe from it's enemies, is determined to marry you off to your dead sister's widower a braw brutish Highland Warrior called Colin so the land, Clan, Castle and yourself will all belong to him (yeah right like that's ever going to happen) so you shout, curse, rant and pray but nobody's listening. Then, on the eve of your wedding, as you start to dress from a dip in the river Colin is suddenly there kissing you and he awakens passion, desire and you can't get enough of him.
Colin too has 'issues' with marrying the unladylike spoilt brat MaKenna and she's nothing like your first wife Deirdre who was a frail beauty but nevertheless you loved her.
