People with badges open minute twenty-two, walking through the crash site. US Marshal Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) is giving advice to his team about how to dress until he is stopped by a cop. He displays his badge and is directed to the man in charge, Sheriff Rawlins, who is talking to the older guard. The older guard takes credit for saving his colleague somehow and is told he is a brave man.
