The beginning of minute thirty-seven has Deputy Sam splitting up his team, sending Biggs and Cosmo down one tunnel while he takes the other one alone. Kimble (smartly) uses strung cables to make his way down a shoot, whereas Deputy Sam does not and loses his footing, his gun, and his dignity.
