Toby Harnden is a US based writer, author, editor and former foreign correspondent for the Sunday Times of London and the Daily Telegraph. He has reported from thirty-three countries, specializing in terrorism and war. His latest book titled 'First Casualty' The Untold Story of the CIA Mission to Avenge 9/11 centers on a team of CIA Officers "Team Alpha" who quietly dropped behind enemy lines on October 17, 2001. One member of the team was John Michael Span who paid the ultimate sacrifice and became the First Casualty of Operation Enduring Freedom. The book follows the teams activities from activation, insertion, linking up with Northern Alliance General Abdul Rashid Dostum and his men, to their extraction home. Enjoy!
