BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Sha’Carri Richardson isn't on the Olympic roster that was recently released by USA Track and Field and its sparking criticism over how Black athletes are treated. The decision comes after the American sprinter tested positive for marijuana. Initially, she accepted a 30-day suspension that would have ended before the start of the relays on Aug. 5. But that changed when Richardson's name was missing from the 130-person roster USA Track and Field released on Tuesday.
