On the Fifth Sunday after Easter, the Church exhorts us to be doers of the Word, not hearers only (James 1), living a faith marked by charity, purity, and integrity. Christ in the Gospel assures us of the Father’s love and invites confident prayer in His Name. As we enter Rogationtide and prepare for the Ascension, the examples of St. Gregory VII, St. Aldhelm, and St. Urban urge us to persevere in holiness, uphold truth, and walk in the joy and liberty of the Gospel.
