There's a particular kind of tired that comes from holding on too tightly. The low hum of managing everything — bracing for the next thing, keeping yourself in check. Nothing's wrong, exactly. But nothing's fully alive either; you're gripping so hard that joy can't get in.
And then, sometimes, the grip loosens. You say yes to the thing you'd been overthinking. You laugh too hard at dinner. And something comes rushing back — color, aliveness, the glad part of you that had gone quiet. It's the shape the body calls the wild thing: the heart thrown open for no reason but that you're alive.
The aliveness never came from getting it right. It came from loosening your hold.
So today, loosen the grip a little. You don't have to know how it lands — only let the gladness carry the rest of the way.
