Good morning, Houston! I'm your friendly neighborhood meteorologist with today's exciting weather update.

We've got an Extreme Cold Watch in effect, so bundle up, folks! Let's break down what Mother Nature has in store for us.

Overnight, expect cloudy skies with temperatures holding steady around 56 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be gentle, blowing from the east at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Tuesday brings a bit more drama! We're looking at a 70 percent chance of showers before noon, with thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Expect temperatures climbing to a mild 63 degrees Fahrenheit. Those east winds will be playful, gusting up to 20 miles per hour. We might see between a tenth and quarter inch of rainfall, with potential for more if thunderstorms roll through.

Tuesday night gets interesting - showers and thunderstorms before 1 am, with temperatures dropping to a chilly 39 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be breezy, shifting from east to north and potentially gusting up to 30 miles per hour.

Wednesday brings a stark change - cloudy morning transitioning to mostly sunny skies, with temperatures hovering around 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Those north winds will be robust, reaching 15 to 20 miles per hour.

The rest of the week looks like a rollercoaster of temperatures. Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Friday stays cloudy with a high of 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Saturday increases our rain chances with showers likely after noon.

The weekend looks promising with a potential warm-up. Sunday might hit 63 degrees Fahrenheit and give us some sunshine, and Monday looks absolutely gorgeous with temperatures reaching 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
