Good morning, Kansas City! Get ready for a chilly and potentially tricky weather day.
We're looking at a Winter Weather Advisory in effect, so buckle up for some interesting conditions. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 26 degrees with an east northeast wind around 9 miles per hour. There's a 50 percent chance of freezing rain, mainly after 4 in the morning.
Moving into Wednesday, expect cloudy skies with a high near 39 degrees. East southeast winds will be gentle at 5 to 9 miles per hour. We're still looking at a 50 percent chance of freezing rain before noon, potentially transitioning to drizzle. Prepare for less than a tenth of an inch of precipitation.
Wednesday night brings mostly cloudy skies and temperatures around 32 degrees. Winds will shift from southeast to northwest, with gusts up to 18 miles per hour.
Thursday looks more promising with sunny skies and a high near 47 degrees. North winds will be brisk, ranging 6 to 11 miles per hour with gusts up to 21 miles per hour.
The weekend forecast shows a mix of clouds and a slight chance of rain on Saturday, with temperatures hovering in the mid-40s. Sunday will be partly sunny with highs around 35 degrees.
Early next week, we're tracking a potential for snow, with temperatures dipping into the low 20s and a 40 percent chance of snowfall.
