Good morning, Kansas City! This is your weather forecast for Thursday, February 13th, brought to you by your friendly neighborhood meteorologists.
Hold onto your winter coats, folks, because we're diving into a chilly adventure! Overnight, we're looking at a frosty scene with temperatures diving down to around 4 degrees. Wind chill values will make it feel like negative 4 to negative 9 degrees, so bundle up tight! Expect a northwest wind cruising around 10 miles per hour.
Thursday is bringing us a sunny day with a high near 22 degrees. But don't get too excited - wind chill values will still hover between negative 8 and 2 degrees. Our northwest wind will be mild at 5 to 8 miles per hour, then switch to a south southwest direction in the afternoon.
As we roll into Thursday night, expect mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping to around 15 degrees. We'll have a south wind between 5 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching 18 miles per hour.
Friday gets interesting with increasing clouds and temperatures climbing to a more comfortable 40 degrees. The south wind will pick up, blowing between 11 to 18 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 miles per hour.
Weekend warriors, heads up! Saturday brings a 60 percent chance of precipitation. We're talking rain before noon, then a mix of rain and snow, transitioning to pure snow in the afternoon. Temperatures will hover around 38 degrees.
By Sunday, we'll see a mostly sunny day with a high of 16 degrees, and Monday brings a cloudy Washington's Birthday with temperatures reaching 25 degrees.
Tuesday might bring some snow action with a 60 percent chance of precipitation and a high of 17 degrees.
