Listen Later

Good morning, Kansas City! This is your weather update, and buckle up because we've got a wild ride ahead.

We're under a High Wind Warning and a Blizzard Warning, so things are about to get interesting. Let's break it down day by day.

Overnight, we're looking at rain with a possibility of thunderstorms. Temperatures will drop to around 52 degrees Fahrenheit, with south winds gusting up to 26 miles per hour. Expect less than a tenth of an inch of rain, unless those thunderstorms decide to make a dramatic entrance.

Tuesday brings more rain and potential thunderstorms. Temperatures will climb to near 60 degrees Fahrenheit, with winds shifting from south to north. We might see between one and two inches of rainfall, so keep those umbrellas handy.

But here's where it gets wild. Tuesday night, we're transitioning from rain to snow, with areas of blowing snow after 1 AM. Temperatures will plummet to around 27 degrees Fahrenheit, and winds could gust up to 65 miles per hour. We're talking about one to two inches of snow accumulation.

Wednesday will start with patchy blowing snow and gradually clear up, with a high near 38 degrees Fahrenheit and windy conditions. Wednesday night looks mostly clear and cold.

The rest of the week looks relatively calmer, with temperatures climbing to the mid-forties and plenty of sunshine over the weekend.
