Today's Weather IN Minneapolis Weather Report for 01-18-2025

Listen Later

Good morning, Minneapolis! Bundle up because Jack Frost is not playing around this weekend.

Let's break down this arctic adventure we're about to experience. Tonight, we're looking at a partly cloudy sky with temperatures dropping to a bone-chilling 4 degrees Fahrenheit. Expect northwest winds around 15 miles per hour, with gusts that could reach up to 30 miles per hour - so definitely keep that heavy winter coat handy.

Saturday is bringing us a mostly sunny day, but don't let that sunshine fool you. We're talking about a high near 8 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chill values plummeting to negative 14 degrees. Northwest winds will continue to howl at around 15 miles per hour.

Saturday night gets even more extreme. Temperatures will nosedive to negative 11 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chills reaching a teeth-chattering negative 30 degrees. Those northwest winds aren't taking a break either, continuing at 15 miles per hour.

Sunday continues our cold snap with partly sunny skies and a high of negative 1 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind chills will make it feel like negative 31 degrees - so basically, it's the kind of cold that makes your nose hairs freeze instantly.

We'll see a slight warm-up on Martin Luther King Day, with temperatures climbing to a balmy negative 4 degrees Fahrenheit.

By Tuesday, we'll start seeing some mercy from Mother Nature, with temperatures creeping up to 4 degrees Fahrenheit, and by Wednesday, we might even hit a tropical 23 degrees Fahrenheit.
