Good morning, Minneapolis! This is your weather update for Wednesday, January 22nd, bringing you the chilly scoop from the Twin Cities National Weather Service.
Bundle up, folks, because winter is definitely making its presence known! Overnight, we're looking at mostly cloudy skies with temperatures holding steady around 15 degrees. Expect a gentle south southwest wind blowing at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Wednesday brings a chance of light snow flurries before noon. Temperatures will struggle to reach a high near 27 degrees, with winds shifting from southwest to northwest throughout the day.
Hold onto your hats, because Wednesday night is going to be brutally cold! Temperatures will plummet to around negative 3 degrees, with wind chill values dropping as low as negative 14 degrees. Northwest winds will be howling at 10 to 15 miles per hour.
Thursday looks sunny but frigid, with a high near 10 degrees. Wind chill values could feel as low as negative 17 degrees. Northwest winds will be blowing at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
The weekend ahead shows a slight warming trend. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with highs near 27 degrees and west northwest winds gusting up to 25 miles per hour. Sunday looks mostly sunny with temperatures climbing to around 25 degrees.
By early next week, we'll see a gradual warm-up, with temperatures potentially reaching the mid-thirties by Tuesday.
