Good morning, Minneapolis! Let's dive into our chilly winter weather forecast.
Buckle up for a winter wonderland weekend! We've got a Winter Weather Advisory in effect, so bundle up and get ready for some snow action.
Tonight, expect a light snowfall with temperatures dropping to a brisk 17 degrees. We're looking at a gentle east northeast wind around 5 miles per hour, and there's a 90 percent chance of precipitation. You might see a dusting of less than one inch of snow.
Saturday brings more snow, mainly before noon. Temperatures will climb to a crisp 23 degrees with a northeast wind shifting to northwest in the afternoon. Plan for 1 to 2 inches of fresh powder - perfect for some winter photography or snowman building!
Saturday night gets seriously cold. We're talking temperatures plummeting to minus 2 degrees with wind chill values dropping to a bone-chilling minus 11 degrees. Northwest winds will be blowing at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Sunday looks sunny but frigid, with a high of 18 degrees and wind chill values near minus 10. The week ahead continues the winter theme with mostly cold and partly cloudy conditions.
A quick highlight reel: Tuesday will be particularly frosty with a high of just 3 degrees, and by Thursday, we might see a slight warm-up with temperatures reaching 12 degrees.
