Good morning, Minneapolis! This is your weather forecast for the next seven days, and buckle up because winter is definitely making its presence known.
We're currently under a Winter Weather Advisory, so let's break down what Mother Nature has in store for us.
Tonight, expect a chilly overnight with temperatures dipping to around zero degrees. We'll have a gentle south wind around 5 miles per hour, keeping things mostly cloudy.
Friday is going to be a snowy affair. After 2 pm, snow will start falling, with temperatures reaching a high near 23 degrees Fahrenheit. The south southeast wind will be blowing at 5 to 10 miles per hour. We're looking at a 100 percent chance of precipitation, with potential snow accumulation between 1 to 3 inches.
Friday night continues the wintry trend, with snow likely before 11 pm. Temperatures will drop to around 19 degrees Fahrenheit, and winds will shift from southeast to north northeast after midnight.
Saturday brings a 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before noon. Expect cloudy skies and a high near 25 degrees Fahrenheit with a north northeast wind.
By Sunday, we're looking at a brisk day with temperatures struggling to reach 8 degrees Fahrenheit. Partly sunny skies and northwest winds gusting up to 25 miles per hour will make it feel even colder.
Washington's Birthday will be another frigid day with temperatures dropping to negative 1 degree Fahrenheit.
As we move into next week, expect consistently cold temperatures with mostly sunny skies and northwest winds.
