Good morning, Minneapolis! This is your weather forecast for the week ahead, straight from the National Weather Service in Chanhassen.
Let's kick things off with tonight - we're looking at a partly cloudy evening with temperatures dropping down to a chilly 15 degrees. Winds will be calm, so bundle up if you're heading out.
Sunday is bringing some sunshine our way! Expect a pleasant high near 44 degrees with a light south southeast wind picking up to 5 to 10 miles per hour in the morning. Sunday night will stay mostly clear with temperatures settling around 30 degrees.
Monday brings a bit of excitement with a slight chance of rain between noon and 2 pm. Temperatures will climb to around 56 degrees with increasing clouds. There's only a 20 percent chance of precipitation, so don't cancel your plans just yet.
Tuesday is when things get interesting - rain is likely after noon, with temperatures hovering around 48 degrees. We're looking at a 90 percent chance of precipitation, with potential rainfall between a tenth and quarter of an inch.
But hold onto your hats, because Tuesday night is going to be a wild ride! We're talking snow possibly mixed with rain, becoming all snow after 3 am. Expect patchy blowing snow and temperatures dropping to around 29 degrees. Winds will be blustery, reaching 15 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 miles per hour.
Wednesday continues the wintery theme with snow likely before noon and a high of 35 degrees. Expect some patchy blowing snow and partly sunny skies.
The rest of the week looks more calm, with temperatures gradually warming up and plenty of sunshine.
