Good morning, Portland! This is your weather update for Tuesday, January 14th, coming to you from the National Weather Service.
Let's break down what Mother Nature has in store for us today. Overnight, we're looking at some patchy fog and a light frost. Temperatures will dip down to around 34 degrees Fahrenheit with a gentle north northwest wind around 5 miles per hour.
As we move into Tuesday, expect some early morning fog that'll clear up by 7 am. There might be widespread frost before 9 am, but don't worry - the day is set to gradually transform from mostly cloudy to beautifully sunny. We'll see temperatures climbing to a mild 46 degrees Fahrenheit with a calm wind becoming a light north northwest breeze.
Tuesday night brings areas of frost after 11 pm, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping back down to around 34 degrees Fahrenheit.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, we'll have some widespread frost mainly before 8 am, followed by a mostly sunny day with temperatures reaching near 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
The rest of the week follows a similar pattern - mornings with potential frost, followed by crisp, mostly sunny days with temperatures hovering in the low to mid 40s. Saturday and Sunday are looking particularly nice with lots of sunshine.
For those planning outdoor activities, layer up in the morning and enjoy the gradual warm-up throughout the day. Winter in Portland is showing its classic mix of frosty mornings and sunny afternoons.
