Good morning, Portland! I'm your friendly neighborhood weather enthusiast coming to you with today's forecast that's about as moody as a Portland coffee shop.
Let's dive right in. Overnight, we've got a bit of a foggy situation brewing. Dense patches of fog will be playing hide and seek before 2 am, and then they'll pop up again after 3 am. Expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures dropping to a chilly 36 degrees. Winds will be lazily drifting from the south at 3 to 5 miles per hour.
Thursday's looking like a foggy start with areas of dense fog hanging around until 2 pm. After that, expect a cloudy day with temperatures barely reaching 44 degrees. The wind? Practically taking a nap - completely calm.
Moving into Thursday night, more patchy fog will make an appearance before and after 2 am. Temperatures will cool down to around 33 degrees, with a northwest wind that can't seem to make up its mind.
Friday brings some good news - patchy fog will clear out by noon, and we'll be treated to a mostly sunny day with temperatures climbing to 43 degrees. Saturday follows a similar pattern with patchy fog before 7 am, then giving way to mostly sunny skies and a high near 45 degrees.
The weekend looks pretty stellar for Oregon standards - Sunday will be sunny with a high of 44 degrees, and Martin Luther King Day is shaping up to be a crisp, sunny day with temperatures reaching 41 degrees.
Next week continues the trend of mostly sunny days, with temperatures hovering in the low 40s and nights dipping into the high 20s.
