Good morning, Portland! This is your weather update for Thursday, January 30th, bringing you the chilly details straight from the National Weather Service.
Overnight, we're looking at patchy fog rolling in after 4 am, with widespread frost blanketing the landscape. Temperatures will dip down to a crisp 31 degrees Fahrenheit, so bundle up if you're an early riser!
Thursday brings a 30 percent chance of rain, mostly likely after 5 pm. The snow level will start around 1700 feet and climb to 2200 feet by afternoon. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a high near 44 degrees Fahrenheit and a light south wind keeping things interesting.
Thursday night is when things get wet! Rain will move in after 7 pm, with temperatures doing a little dance - falling to 40 degrees Fahrenheit by 9 pm, then climbing back to around 44 degrees. We're looking at a 100 percent chance of precipitation, with potentially a quarter to half an inch of rainfall.
Friday continues the wet trend with rain all day. Temperatures will climb to near 52 degrees Fahrenheit, with south winds between 7 to 11 miles per hour and gusts up to 25 miles per hour. Expect another half to three-quarters of an inch of rain.
The weekend looks like a mixed bag of moisture. Saturday brings showers and possible thunderstorms, with the snow level at 1200 feet. Sunday and Monday will alternate between rain and snow, with snow levels fluctuating between 700 and 800 feet.
