Todd Interdonato, Wofford Terriers

Todd Interdonato is in his 10th season as head coach of the Wofford Terriers and his 12th overall as a member of the Southern Conference school’s coaching staff. A natural motivator with an infectious and enthusiastic personality, Interdonato refused to quit when the game suggested he try something else at a young age. A self-described terrible high school baseball player, he was cut in the fall at one junior college during his freshman year before transferring to South Mountain Community College in the Phoenix area, where he managed to stick. After a solid sophomore campaign, Interdonato attended UNC Asheville sight unseen and proceeded to put together one of the best seasons in program history during his senior year. In his final year as a collegiate player, he played for legendary head coach Mike Roberts and discovered many of the traits needed to become a teacher and leader. He proceeded to earn his MBA as a graduate assistant coach at Gardner-Webb University for two years and spent one year coaching at Fort Scott Community College prior to becoming an assistant coach at Wofford College. After two years with the Terriers, Interdonato was hired as the school’s head baseball coach at the age of 28 when former head coach Steve Traylor decided to retire. Since then Interdonato has led the Terriers to unprecedented success in program history, which includes a current streak of three straight seasons with at least 30 victories, the longest in Terrier baseball annals. In 2014, the Terriers’ overall record of 32-28 was their first winning record since 1992 and the first in the Division I era at Wofford. That was followed by a 39-22 record in 2015, the most wins in school history, and a 30-28 mark in 2016. The team also posted a 13-10 mark in the Southern Conference in 2015, the first winning record ever in league play. In both 2014 and 2015, the Terriers reached the SoCon Tournament semifinals. Wofford led the nation in total stolen bases in both 2014 and 2015. He enters the 2017 campaign with 223 career victories, the most in school history.
