Tom Geatches talks Kids Ministry

Tom Geatches is the Kids Network Lead for One Church, based in Gloucester, that has 4 locations in the southwest of Gloucester and three in Zimbabwe. It’s also my church! Tom is passionate about pastoring kids into all God has for them. Tom also owns his own Kids Club business, Limitless Kids, as well as working part time as Executive Assistant to One Church’s Senior Pastor, Simon Jarvis. Needless to say, Tom has a lot on his plate!

  1. I’d love to kick off by asking you how you’ve found leading kids ministry over lockdown. How did you find it and what did you learn?
  2. We know that kids ministry is important and that most people who follow Jesus do so from an early age, Why is kids ministry?
  3. The Kids Ministry at One Church, OC Kids, has been listed as a Greenhouse ministry with AoG. What does that mean and how is that helping other churches?
  4. At thinking.church we talk a lot about discipleship pathways, using your programmes to grow people step by step in their faith. However, with kids, you usually only get one opportunity per week to disciple them. How do you disciple a child when you’ve only got limited time?
  5. Do you think COVID has changed the landscape of how kids ministry works in churches?
