Everyone has a story. It's just that some are more interesting than others. As we continue in telling the story about Hall of Fame basketball coach Tom Rettig, we now turn to some of those people who have known him over the years. Such is the case of Tippecanoe High School class of 1986 graduate Jim Dabbelt. Dabbelt is the author of The Dabbelt Report, the ultimate in promotion and recognition of girls high school basketball players in Ohio which he's produced since 2003. Dabbelt was a student of Tom's and was encouraged by him to be the team statistician in 1985-86 and has worked as a writer of high school, college and pro athletics over the years. It was Tom that encouraged him to put together Jim's passion for writing, sports and the girls game which was underserved in the journalistic world. He also had a front row seat for the 1985-86 season which had Tippecanoe in the State title game in Akron. Jim discusses his memories of that year in high school, the magical run they had and delivers some thoughts on athletics in general in this half hour. Join us for this conversation!
