The Maria Doria levels in Tomb Raider 2 share striking similarities with the real Titanic wreck — but were they intentional? We compare both, and our first special guest, a real archaeologist weighs in!

Was the Titanic secretly hiding inside Tomb Raider 2… this whole time? 🛳️

In Episode 5, we dive deep into one of the most iconic and eerie levels in gaming history — The Maria Doria — and uncover the truth behind one of Tomb Raider’s biggest fan theories.

👉 Is this wreck actually inspired by the Titanic?

👉 Or is it based on the real-life Andrea Doria disaster?

Alongside exploring the level’s hidden details, puzzles, and atmosphere, we bring in a real archaeologist to react to Lara Croft’s underwater adventure — separating fact from fiction.

The Maria Doria isn’t just a level — it’s a fully realised sunken luxury liner, flipped upside down, filled with traps, secrets, and history-inspired design.

And there’s even evidence suggesting the Titanic may have originally been considered during development… before being changed.
