Up and coming comedian Tommy Black will be filming a live comedy special in Las Cruces at The Spot, 170 W. Picacho Ave., on Saturday, Jan. 19, as part of his Presidential Comedy Campaign tour.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and Black is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. along with comedians Joe Rodriguez, Armando Placencia and Lawyer Johnson. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Pic Quik convenience store. VIP tickets are $20.
Many Las Crucens might recognize Black as DJ Black, a radio disk jockey on KHQT-FM's HOT 103.1 for about 10 years.
"I had the No. 1 radio show for seven years in a row and I got Best DJ two years in a row," said Black, who now works for the Veterans Administration. He's also an area entrepreneur who plans to open restaurants downtown.
