Yesterday we spoke to Liana Frangipani, a 21yo Pacific musician who’s been pursuing music for the past four years.

Today, we hear from 23 year old Niuean artist Tommy Nee, he’s released an EP and a few singles in recent years and in 2017 he won the Most Promising Award at the Pacific Music Awards.

The government funding agency for New Zealand content NZ On Air is for the first time opening a funding round specifically for new Pasifika music. Tommy knows what it’s like to be funded to make music and he’s been through the process of it. But what struggles does he face as a Pasifika artist in 2019.
