In this episode of Tomorrow’s Truth Found Today, Mark examines a challenging question: Have we allowed pagan practices and traditions to become mixed with our worship of God?
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly warns His people against idolatry, false worship, divination, and adopting practices that lead them away from Him. Yet as generations have passed, traditions and beliefs have become intertwined to the point that we may no longer stop and ask an important question: Is what we are doing actually pleasing to God?
In Part One of this discussion, Mark explores the biblical warnings against mixing pagan practices with the worship of God and considers how easily people can become desensitized to customs that have been accepted for generations.
The episode also examines astrology, divination, the occult, idolatry, obedience, repentance, and the importance of testing our traditions and actions against Scripture rather than simply accepting them because they have become commonplace.
Among the Scriptures discussed are Deuteronomy 4 and 12, Leviticus 20 and 26, Jeremiah 10:2–3, Isaiah 5:20, Matthew 7:15–20, Acts 7:42, 2 Thessalonians 2:11–12, Colossians 3:2–11, 2 Peter 3:9, and many others.
The purpose of this episode is to encourage each of us to examine our own lives, study God's Word, pray for understanding, and determine whether anything has found its way into our faith that simply doesn't belong there.
God offers us His love, forgiveness, guidance, and the promise of salvation, but He also calls us to faith, obedience, repentance, and endurance.
So the question is: Are we giving God pure worship, or have we created “The Wrong Mix”?
Listen, study the Scriptures for yourself, and decide.
This is Part One. In upcoming episodes, Mark will look at examples from Scripture and history that demonstrate what happened when people chose to mix pagan practices with the things of God.
