Tom is a man that has a lot of stuff in his life to be spiteful of. Tom's story is not to be used as petty.  His story  is to be seen as evidence of being grateful for what you have, and not being ashamed of who you are is   Listen to his story and not judge him , but have empathy and question what is your own life worth if not to be grateful for who and what you are.
