Tomy Parker grew up in Montana before joining the Marine Corp as an infantry rifleman after high school.

 

While on foot patrol, he stepped on an improvised explosive device resulting in the amputation of his right leg above the knee, left leg at the hip, and all of the fingers on his hand save his thumb.

 

He returned to Montana but soon lost his purpose in life and filled that void with drugs, leading him down the long dark road of substance abuse.

 

A decade later, Tomy ran into his childhood friend (now fiancé), and through her love and acceptance, reignited his purpose within.

 

On this episode, Dale talks with Tomy and Dara about Tomy’s being wounded in combat, his journey overcoming his drug addiction, and how their story came to be from life in smalltown Montana, eventually finding true love in one another...
